What Happened
The power steering system in your XC90 helps you steer the vehicle. There's a small pipe in the system that could leak oil, causing problems.
Risk if Unfixed
If the oil pipe leaks, you could suddenly lose power steering while driving, making it harder to control your vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Volvo dealer will replace the faulty oil pipes in the power steering rack at no cost to you. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.

VOLVO IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010-2011 XC90 VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM JANUARY 29, 2010, THROUGH AUGUST 16, 2010. THE POWER STEERING FLUID MAY LEAK FROM THE OIL PIPE CONNECTION AT THE STEERING GEAR VALVE HOUSING.

THIS CONDITION COULD LEAD TO A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER STEERING, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Original — Remedy
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE OIL PIPES ON THE POWER STEERING RACK FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL IS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN DURING JUNE 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT VOLVO AT 1-800-458-1552.

What Happened
The fuel line in your 2010 XC90 is a critical pipe that brings gasoline from the tank to your engine. In some cases, it can develop a leak between the pipe and its connection.
Risk if Unfixed
If the fuel line leaks and there's an ignition source nearby, it could catch fire at the right front wheel — a serious hazard that could cause damage or injury.
Free Fix
Your authorized Volvo dealer will inspect the fuel line and replace it with a new one if necessary, free of charge. You should schedule this inspection as soon as possible.

If the battery overheats, it could catch fire, which could cause damage to your vehicle or surrounding areas.
Free Fix
Your Volvo dealer will replace the battery in your Garmin GPS device and add a protective spacer to prevent overheating - all for free. You should schedule this repair as soon as possible, and you can find out if your device is affected by visiting the Garmin website or calling 866-957-1981.

THE UNIT'S BATTERY WILL BE REPLACED WITH A NEW BATTERY AND A SPACER WILL BE INSERTED ON TOP OF THE BATTERY NEXT TO THE PCB. THIS SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE.
