What Happened
The gearshift lever stud assembly is a crucial part of your transmission that connects the gearshift to the gear selector. In some 2010-2011 Volvo C30, S40, and V50 models with manual transmissions, this part might not have been properly secured.
Risk if Unfixed
If the gearshift lever stud assembly comes loose, you could have trouble shifting gears, which could lead to a loss of control of your vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

VOLVO IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010-2011 C30, MODEL YEAR 2010 S40 AND V50 VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS. THE GEARSHIFT LEVER STUD ASSEMBLY MAY NOT HAVE BEEN TIGHTENED TO THE CORRECT SPECIFICATION DURING ASSEMBLY. IF THE GEARSHIFT LEVER CABLE OR STUD ASSEMBLY BECOMES LOOSE, IT MAY NOT BE POSSIBLE TO ENGAGE, DISENGAGE OR SHIFT GEARS.

The Garmin portable GPS unit in your vehicle is a portable navigation system that helps you find your way. The battery in this unit is the power source, but it could overheat and cause a problem.

If the battery overheats, it could catch fire, which could potentially cause an accident or injury.
Free Fix
Your Volvo dealer will replace the battery in your Garmin portable GPS unit with a new one, and they'll also install a spacer next to the circuit board. This service is free, and you should schedule it as soon as possible.

VOLVO ADVISES OWNERS TO PLEASE STOP USING THE GARMIN PORTABLE GPS DEVICE IMMEDIATELY, AND VISIT THE GARMIN WEBSITE TO DETERMINE IF THEIR UNIT IS AFFECTED. THE UNIT'S BATTERY WILL BE REPLACED WITH A NEW BATTERY AND A SPACER WILL BE INSERTED ON TOP OF THE BATTERY NEXT TO THE PCB. THIS SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. What Happened
Your vehicle's front passenger seat has a system that keeps the seat from moving too far forward. However, this system was made incorrectly, so it might not work as it should.

If the seat can move too far forward, you could get injured in a crash because you won't have enough protection from the dashboard or airbag.
