FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP

Manufacturer
VOLVO CARS OF N.A. LLC.
What Happened
The fuel pump's electronic control module, called the PEM, is a crucial part that helps your engine get the right amount of fuel. Over time, if it gets exposed to salty, wet conditions, it can start to corrode from the inside out, causing problems.
Risk if Unfixed
If the PEM gets damaged, your fuel pump might send faulty signals, leading to low or no fuel pressure. This can cause your engine to stall or not start at all, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Volvo dealer will replace the damaged PEM with a new one and install it in a spot that's protected from corrosion, all at no charge to you. They'll take care of the repair as soon as you schedule it.
