BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARE

Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The rearview camera system in your vehicle helps you see what's behind you when you're reversing. In some 2022-2024 Golf R, Golf GTI, Atlas, and Atlas Cross Sport models, the camera image may be delayed or turned off after you shift into reverse gear.
Risk if Unfixed
If the camera image is delayed or turned off, you'll have a harder time seeing what's behind your vehicle. This could increase the risk of a crash or injury, especially in situations where you're relying on the camera to help you back up safely.
Free Fix
Your Volkswagen dealer will update the infotainment system software to fix the issue, and the repair is completely free. You should schedule the update as soon as you get the recall notice.
