What Happened
The springs in the seat rails of your Yaris or Scion xD are the metal pieces that keep your driver's seat and passenger seat from shifting around while you're driving. In older models, these springs may wear out and break.
Risk if Unfixed
If the spring breaks, your seat won't stay locked in place. In a crash, the seat could move, increasing the risk of injury to you or a passenger.
Free Fix
Your Toyota dealer will inspect the seat rail and replace it with a new one if necessary - all at no cost to you. You'll receive a notification with more details, and you should schedule the repair as soon as you can.
