What Happened
The low-pressure fuel pump in your Yaris is the part that helps send gasoline from the tank to your engine. In some 2019-2020 models, this pump's impeller can crack and deform, causing it to fail.
Risk if Unfixed
If the pump fails while you're driving, your engine can stall, which could make it hard to control your vehicle and increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Toyota dealer will replace the faulty fuel pump assembly with a new one, free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Yaris, Yaris Hatchback, and Yaris Sedan vehicles. An impeller within the low-pressure fuel pump may crack and deform, potentially causing the fuel pump to fail.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
A fuel pump failure may cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
Original — Remedy
Dealers will replace the low-pressure fuel pump assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 30, 2021. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 21TB05 and 21TA05.
