What Happened
The exhaust tip on your 4Runner is the part that helps direct exhaust gases away from the vehicle. Some aftermarket exhaust tips installed by Southeast Toyota Distributors may protrude too far and could potentially burn you if you're standing behind the vehicle.
Risk if Unfixed
If you touch the exhaust tip, you could get burned, which could cause serious injury.
Free Fix
Your dealer will replace the exhaust tip with a redesigned, safer one that's recessed behind the bumper – and it's free. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.

Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC (SET) is recalling certain model year 2010-2015 Toyota 4Runner vehicles manufactured September 3, 2009, to December 1, 2014. The affected vehicles may be equipped with accessory exhaust tips installed by SET or SET dealers that may contact people and possibly burn them while they are standing behind the vehicle.

What Happened
The airbag inflator in your vehicle is a critical safety device that can deploy in a crash to protect you. Unfortunately, some inflators that were previously replaced in your vehicle may have a hidden problem: they can explode due to humidity and temperature changes.

These vehicles had their driver or passenger frontal air bag inflators previously replaced under a prior recall using inflators of the same design. What Happened
The hood scoop on your vehicle is an accessory that directs air into your engine. It's held in place by a weak adhesive, which can break down over time, causing the scoop to come loose.
Risk if Unfixed
If the hood scoop detaches while you're driving, it could become a hazard on the road, potentially causing a crash or damaging your vehicle.
Free Fix
Your dealer will secure the hood scoop to your vehicle's hood with mechanical fasteners, and this repair is completely free. You'll be notified when it's time to schedule the fix, so be sure to keep an eye out for the recall notice.
