Component

AIR BAGS:SIDE/WINDOW

Manufacturer
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing
What Happened
The airbag control module in your vehicle is a computer that helps decide when the side curtain airbags deploy. In some 2003-2006 Land Cruiser, Lexus LX470, Tundra, Sequoia, 4Runner, and GX470 models, this module may be incorrectly programmed, causing the airbags to deploy when they shouldn't.
Risk if Unfixed
If the side curtain airbags deploy unexpectedly, you could be at risk of injury from the airbags or from the unexpected deployment causing a collision.
Free Fix
Your Toyota dealer will replace the faulty airbag control module with a new one that has improved programming, all at no cost to you. Just schedule the repair when you receive your recall notice.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:ACCELERATOR PEDAL

Manufacturer
TOYOTA MOTOR NORTH AMERICA, INC.
What Happened
The accelerator pedal is the part that helps control your vehicle's speed. In some 2008-2011 Lexus LX570, 2003-2009 Toyota 4Runner, and 2006-2010 RAV4 models, the pedal can get stuck in the open position if a floor mat gets trapped under it.
Risk if Unfixed
If the pedal gets stuck open, you could lose control of your vehicle and reach extremely high speeds. This makes it very hard to stop the car, which could lead to a serious crash, injury, or even death.
Free Fix
Your Toyota or Lexus dealer will modify or replace the accelerator pedal and swap out your floor mat for a compatible one – all at no cost to you. You can schedule the repair by contacting Toyota at 1-800-331-4331 or Lexus at 1-800-255-3987.
