Component
AIR BAGS:SIDE/WINDOW
Manufacturer
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing
What Happened
The airbag control module in your vehicle is a computer that helps decide when the side curtain airbags deploy. In some 2003-2006 Land Cruiser, Lexus LX470, Tundra, Sequoia, 4Runner, and GX470 models, this module may be incorrectly programmed, causing the airbags to deploy when they shouldn't.
Risk if Unfixed
If the side curtain airbags deploy unexpectedly, you could be at risk of injury from the airbags or from the unexpected deployment causing a collision.
Free Fix
Your Toyota dealer will replace the faulty airbag control module with a new one that has improved programming, all at no cost to you. Just schedule the repair when you receive your recall notice.
