What Happened
Your vehicle's passenger side seat belt tension sensor harness connector might have been damaged during manufacturing, which could cause problems with the air bag system.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, the air bag warning light will turn on and the passenger side air bag won't work in a crash, which could increase the risk of injury or harm.
Free Fix
You should take your vehicle to the dealership, where they will replace the faulty connector at no cost to you, as part of a free recall that started on June 18, 2007.

Original — What Happened
ON CERTAIN HATCHBACK VEHICLES, THE TERMINALS FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT TENSION SENSOR HARNESS CONNECTOR MAY HAVE BEEN DAMAGED DURING THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS. THIS COULD RESULT IN A LOSS OF ELECTRICAL CONTINUITY CAUSING THE OCCUPANT DETECTION SYSTEM TO BECOME INOPERATIVE.

IF THIS OCCURS, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WILL COME ON AND THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONTAL AIR BAG WILL BE SUPPRESSED.
Original — Remedy
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE CONNECTOR FOR THE SEAT BELT TENSION SENSOR HARNESS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JUNE 18, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261.
