Component

EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS:SWITCH

Manufacturer
Nissan North America, Inc.
What Happened
The brake light switch in your Sentra is a small part that helps your brake lights turn on when you press the brake pedal. Over time, it can get dirty and stop working properly.
Risk if Unfixed
If the brake light switch fails, your brake lights might not turn on when you press the brake pedal. This could make it harder for other drivers to see when you're slowing down, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Nissan dealer will replace the faulty brake light switch with a new one and add a protective cover to prevent future problems - all free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get your recall notice.

BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA

Manufacturer
Nissan North America, Inc.
What Happened
The back-up camera system in your vehicle is designed to help you see what's behind your car when you're reversing. However, in certain models, the settings can be adjusted to make the camera display disappear, even when you put the car in reverse.
Risk if Unfixed
If the camera display is blank, you'll rely on your own vision to see what's behind your car, which could lead to a crash, especially in situations like backing into a parking lot or a narrow alley.
Free Fix
Nissan will update the camera settings software for free, so you should contact the dealership or call Nissan customer service at the numbers listed to schedule the repair. It's free, and you should take care of it as soon as possible.
