EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS:SWITCH

Manufacturer
Nissan North America, Inc.
What Happened
The brake light switch in your Nissan Sentra is a safety switch that helps turn on your brake lights when you press the brake pedal. In some 2016-2019 models, this switch can get clogged and stop working properly.
Risk if Unfixed
If the brake light switch fails, your brake lights won't turn on, which could lead to other drivers not knowing when you're slowing down or stopping. This increases the risk of a crash, especially at night or in low-visibility conditions.
Free Fix
Your Nissan dealer will swap out the faulty brake light switch and install a protective cover to keep it clean, all at no cost to you. Just schedule the repair when you get the recall notice in the mail.
