What Happened
The master cylinder in your brake system is a critical part that helps you stop your vehicle. It's made by Robert Bosch, and in some 2007-2008 Sentras, it might not seal properly, allowing brake fluid to leak.
Risk if Unfixed
If you ignore the warning light, one of the brake circuits could fail, making it harder to stop your vehicle. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Nissan dealer will check the master cylinder and brake booster for leaks and replace the master cylinder with a new one at no cost to you. You should schedule this repair as soon as possible.

NISSAN IS RECALLING 169,202 MY 2007-2008 SENTRA PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED ROBERT BOSCH MASTER CYLINDER. DUE TO THE MACHINING IRREGULARITY BY THE SUPPLIER, THE INTERNAL SEAL GROOVE IN THE BODY OF SOME BRAKE MASTER CYLINDERS MAY ALLOW FOR A GAP IN THE GROOVE CONTACT AREA OF THE SEAL. THIS MAY RESULT IN BRAKE FLUID SLOWLY LEAKING FROM THE MASTER CYLINDER INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY, CAUSING THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE.

IF THE WARNING LAMP IS IGNORED, ONE OF THE BRAKE CIRCUITS ON THE VEHICLE MAY NOT OPERATE AS DESIGNED INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
