What Happened
The master cylinder is the part that helps control your brakes. In some 2008 Sentra models, the brake fluid reservoir in the master cylinder might leak, which could cause problems.
Risk if Unfixed
If you ignore the warning light, one of your brake circuits could fail, making it harder to stop your vehicle. This could lead to longer stopping distances and a higher risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Nissan dealer will inspect and replace the master cylinder brake booster assembly for free. You should schedule the repair as soon as possible to ensure your safety on the road.

NISSAN IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2008 SENTRA PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH BOSCH MASTER CYLINDERS. BRAKE FLUID MAY LEAK FROM THE MASTER CYLINDER. IF THE AMOUNT OF BRAKE FLUID IN THE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR DECREASES TO BELOW THE MINIMUM LEVEL, THE BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING INDICATOR WILL ILLUMINATE AS DESIGNED AND THE BRAKES WILL NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY.

What Happened
The brake master cylinder is a critical part in your Sentra's brake system. It helps you stop the vehicle by sending brake fluid to the right places. In some 2007-2008 models, the master cylinder may have a problem with the seal, causing brake fluid to leak into the brake booster.
Risk if Unfixed

NISSAN IS RECALLING 169,202 MY 2007-2008 SENTRA PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED ROBERT BOSCH MASTER CYLINDER. DUE TO THE MACHINING IRREGULARITY BY THE SUPPLIER, THE INTERNAL SEAL GROOVE IN THE BODY OF SOME BRAKE MASTER CYLINDERS MAY ALLOW FOR A GAP IN THE GROOVE CONTACT AREA OF THE SEAL. THIS MAY RESULT IN BRAKE FLUID SLOWLY LEAKING FROM THE MASTER CYLINDER INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY, CAUSING THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE.

What Happened
The GPS system in your vehicle uses a Garmin NUVI 750 unit to provide navigation. This unit contains a battery that could overheat.
Risk if Unfixed
If the battery overheats, it could catch fire, which is a serious safety risk.
Free Fix
Your dealer will have a Garmin technician replace the faulty battery with a new one and add a spacer to prevent overheating – free of charge. You'll receive a notice when the repair is ready, and you should contact them to schedule it.
