What Happened
Your vehicle's rear seat belts have a potential issue with the webbing that could be damaged in a severe frontal crash, causing it to break and increase the risk of injury.

If the webbing breaks completely, it could lead to a higher risk of injury to the person sitting in the seat.
Free Fix
You should take your vehicle to a dealership to have protective covers installed over the rear seat belts, free of charge, as soon as possible.

Original — What Happened
ON SOME SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, IN CERTAIN HIGH SPEED FRONTAL CRASHES, THE WEBBING OF A REAR OUTBOARD SEAT BELT MAY CONTACT THE REAR SEAT BACK HINGE WHERE IT CAN BE CUT BY THE SHARP EDGE OF THE METAL PORTION OF THE HINGE.

IF THE WEBBING IS COMPLETELY SEPARATED, IT CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF INJURY TO AN OCCUPANT IN A CRASH.

DEALERS WILL INSTALL PROTECTORS OVER THE WEBBING OF THE REAR SEAT BELTS. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 20, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261.
