What Happened
There's a problem with the anti-lock brake system (ABS) control unit in your vehicle. The connector might have missing or dislodged wire seals, which could let dirt or moisture in and cause an electrical short.
Risk if Unfixed
If the ABS system malfunctions, it could cause the ABS warning light to come on, and in some cases, the control unit might overheat, leading to a burning smell, smoke, or even a fire. This could happen when your vehicle is turned off or while you're driving.
Free Fix
We'll inspect and repair or replace the ABS module connector at no cost to you. We'll also check the ABS module connector for corrosion or damage and replace it if necessary. This recall started on May 9, 2007, and you can contact Mazda at 1-800-222-5500 for more information.

THIS CONDITION COULD OCCUR EITHER WHEN THE VEHICLE IGNITION SWITCH IS IN THE OFF POSITION OR WHILE THE VEHICLE IS BEING OPERATED.
