SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK/TRACTION CONTROL/ELECTRONIC LIMITED SLIP:CONTROL UNIT/MODULE
What Happened
The ABS module in your vehicle's anti-lock brake system helps prevent wheels from locking up during hard braking. The ABS module's connector might have missing or loose seals that let dirt and moisture in.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, an electrical short could cause your ABS system to fail, making the ABS light on your dashboard come on. In some cases, the module could overheat, causing a burning smell, smoke, or even a fire, which could be a serious safety risk - even when your vehicle is parked or not in motion.
Free Fix
Your Mazda dealer will inspect the ABS module connector, fix or replace it if needed, and replace the ABS module's connector if it's damaged or corroded. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as possible.
