Component

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING

Manufacturer
TOYOTA MOTOR NORTH AMERICA, INC.
What Happened
The fuel rails in your Lexus are made of aluminum and help carry gasoline to your engine. In certain models, the low-ethanol fuel you use can corrode these rails over time, weakening them.
Risk if Unfixed
If the corrosion gets bad enough, a small hole could form, and gasoline could leak out. If this happens near a spark source, it could cause a fire.
Free Fix
Your Lexus dealer will inspect and replace the corroded fuel rails with new ones, at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice in February 2009.
