AIR BAGS

Manufacturer
TOYOTA MOTOR NORTH AMERICA, INC.
What Happened
The air bag inflator in your vehicle is a crucial part that helps protect you in a crash. In some cases, this inflator may not have enough of a special gas that makes the air bag inflate properly.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, the air bag might not work correctly in a crash, putting you at a higher risk of injury.
Free Fix
Your authorized Toyota, Scion, or Lexus dealer will replace the faulty air bag inflator with a new one that works properly. This repair is free, and you'll be notified when it's time to schedule the fix.

Original — What Happened
ON CERTAIN VEHICLES, DUE TO IMPROPER ASSEMBLY OF THE AIR BAG INFLATOR, WHICH IS USED IN THE SIDE AIR BAG, THE CURTAIN SHIELD AIR BAG, AND THE KNEE AIR BAG ASSEMBLY, SOME INFLATORS WERE PRODUCED WITH AN INSUFFICIENT AMOUNT OF THE HEATING AGENTS NECESSARY FOR PROPER AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. IN THIS CONDITION, THE EXPANSION FORCE OF THE GAS MAY BE INSUFFICIENT TO PROPERLY INFLATE THE AIR BAG WHEN THE SRS SYSTEM IS ACTIVATED DURING A CRASH.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
THIS MAY INCREASE THE RISK OF INJURY TO THE OCCUPANT IN THE INVOLVED SEATING POSITION IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH.
Original — Remedy
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE SPECIFIC SRS AIR BAG. THE RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 6, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT TOYOTA AT 1-888-270-9371, SCION AT 1-866-548-1851, OR LEXUS AT 1-800-255-3987.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING

Manufacturer
SABERSPORT
What Happened
The corner and bumper lamp on your vehicle is the assembly that includes the headlights and turn signals. In some aftermarket lamp assemblies, the required amber side reflectors are missing, which can reduce visibility while driving.
Risk if Unfixed
Without the amber side reflectors, your vehicle's lights may not be as visible to other drivers, especially at night or in low-light conditions, which could lead to a vehicle crash.
Free Fix
Your dealer will offer a full refund for the non-compliant corner and bumper lamp assembly. You should contact Sabersport at 1-909-598-7589 to initiate the refund process.
