Component
SEAT BELTS: REAR/OTHER:BUCKLE ASSEMBLY
Manufacturer
Kia Motors America
What Happened
The buckle assembly on your Sedona's second-row middle seat is the part that secures the 3-point seat belt. In some 2019 models, it was installed on the wrong side of the seat, making it useless.
Risk if Unfixed
If the seat belt can't be used properly, you're at higher risk of getting hurt in a crash. This is because the seat belt won't be able to keep you safely restrained.
Free Fix
Your Kia dealer will check the seat belt installation and move the buckle to the correct side if needed – and it's free of charge. You should schedule the repair when you get the recall notice.
