ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING Safety Recalls

Critical #25V437000 Plain English
Component

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:HARD PARTS INTERNAL/MECHANICAL

Manufacturer
Nissan North America, Inc.
What Happened
The engine bearings in your vehicle are tiny metal parts that help keep your engine running smoothly. In some 2021-2024 Rogues, 2019-2020 Altimas, 2019-2022 Infiniti QX50s, and 2022 Infiniti QX55s with specific engines, these bearings might be defective and could break, causing engine failure.
Risk if Unfixed
If the bearings fail, your engine could seize, causing a serious engine failure. This could lead to a breach in the engine block, allowing hot oil to leak out and potentially cause an engine fire, which could increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your dealer will update the computer system that controls your engine, free of charge. This software update should help prevent the engine bearings from failing, and it's already been sent to you by mail. You should schedule the update as soon as possible.
