Component
ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:HARD PARTS INTERNAL/MECHANICAL
Manufacturer
Nissan North America, Inc.
What Happened
The engine bearings in your vehicle are crucial parts that help the engine run smoothly. In some 2021-2024 Rogues, 2019-2020 Altimas, 2019-2022 Infiniti QX50s, and 2022 Infiniti QX55s with specific engines, these bearings might have manufacturing issues that can cause engine failure.
Risk if Unfixed
If the engine bearings fail, your engine could seize, causing a serious breach that lets hot oil leak out. This could lead to an engine fire, which could get out of control and cause a crash.
Free Fix
Your Nissan or Infiniti dealer will update the engine control module software for free, which should prevent engine failure. You should schedule the update as soon as you receive the recall notice, which has already been mailed to you on April 8, 2026.

Original — What Happened
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Rogue, 2019-2020 Altima, 2019-2022 Infiniti QX50, and 2022 Infiniti QX55 vehicles equipped with 3-cylinder 1.5L or 4-cylinder 2.0L variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engines. The engine bearings may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine failure.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
Engine failure increases the risk of a crash. A bearing failure may cause a breach in the engine block, allowing hot oil to be discharged, increasing the risk of an engine fire.
