What Happened
Your vehicle's engine has a problem with the bearings inside the engine block. The bearings might not be made correctly, which can cause the engine to fail.
Risk if Unfixed
If the engine fails, it can increase the risk of a crash. The engine block can break open, causing hot oil to spill out and potentially start a fire.
Free Fix
Nissan will reprogram your engine's computer software for free. You just need to visit your local dealership to get this done, and you don't have to pay a thing.

Original — What Happened
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Rogue, 2019-2020 Altima, 2019-2022 Infiniti QX50, and 2022 Infiniti QX55 vehicles equipped with 3-cylinder 1.5L or 4-cylinder 2.0L variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engines. The engine bearings may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine failure.

Engine failure increases the risk of a crash. A bearing failure may cause a breach in the engine block, allowing hot oil to be discharged, increasing the risk of an engine fire.
Original — Remedy
Dealers will reprogram the engine control module (ECM) software, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed April 8, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261 or Infiniti's customer service at 1-800-662-6200. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R25A8/A9 and R25B1/B2.

What Happened
Your 2019 INFINITI QX50 may have a faulty air bag cover that could detach in a crash in very cold temperatures.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, you could be at risk of a more serious injury than if the air bag cover had functioned properly.
Free Fix
INFINITI will replace the passenger-side knee air bag module for free, and they'll let you know when it's time to come into the dealership.

Original — What Happened
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2019 INFINITI QX50 vehicles. In the event of a crash in very cold temperatures, the trim cover may separate unexpectedly from the passenger-side knee air bag module instead of splitting at the trim cover tear seam as designed.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
If the passenger-side knee air bag cover detaches during deployment, it can increase the risk of injury.
Original — Remedy
INFINITI will notify owners, and retailers will replace the passenger-side knee air bag module, free of charge. The recall began October 23, 2018. Owners may contact INFINITI customer service at 1-800-662-6200.

BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA

What Happened
A software issue with your vehicle's back-up camera system may cause the rear view image to be hidden or not visible when you're in reverse gear. This is a problem because the camera system is supposed to help you see what's behind your vehicle when you're backing up.
Risk if Unfixed
If you can't see what's behind your vehicle when you're backing up, you're more likely to crash, which could lead to injuries or damage to your vehicle.
Free Fix
Nissan will update the back-up camera software for free, and you'll be notified when it's time to bring your vehicle in for the repair. You can contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669 or INFINITI customer service at 1-800-662-6200 to get the process started.

Original — What Happened
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Nissan Altima, Armada, Frontier, Kicks, Leaf, Maxima, Murano, NV, NV200, Pathfinder, Rogue, Rogue Sport, Sentra, Titan, Titan Diesel, Versa Note and Versa Sedan vehicles, as well as Infiniti Q50, Q60, QX30 and QX80 vehicles. Additionally included are 2019 Nissan GT-R and Taxi and Infiniti QX50, QX60, Q70, Q70L vehicles. The back-up camera and display settings can be adjusted such that the rear view image is no longer visible and the system will retain that setting the next time the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
