What Happened
Incorrect bolts were installed to secure the driver side seat in your vehicle, which could affect how the seat holds you in place during a crash.
Risk if Unfixed
If you're in a crash, the seat may not stay secure, which could lead to more serious injury to you, the driver.
Free Fix
We'll inspect the seat bolts and replace them if needed, absolutely free. You'll be notified by letter on February 5, 2001, and you can schedule a repair at an authorized dealer. If you don't get the repair done within a reasonable time, call us at 1-800-853-1403.

Original — What Happened
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. A NUMBER OF INCORRECT DRIVER SIDE SEAT MOUNTING BOLTS WERE INSTALLED INTO VEHICLES.

IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THE BOLTS MAY NOT PROPERLY SECURE THE SEAT AND COULD CAUSE INCREASED INJURY TO THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE.
Original — Remedy
DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE SEAT MOUNTING BOLTS AND THEN REPLACE THE BOLTS IF NECESSARY. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN FEBRUARY 5, 2001. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT DAIMLERCHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403.
