SUSPENSION:REAR

What Happened
The rear suspension toe link in your 2009-2010 Cadillac CTS is a critical part that connects the wheels to the vehicle's frame. Over time, a wax coating on the nuts that hold it in place can wear off, causing the nuts to loosen.
Risk if Unfixed
If the nuts loosen, the toe link could separate, allowing the rear wheel to move out of position. This could make it hard to control your vehicle, especially during sudden turns or braking, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your authorized Cadillac dealer will clean the wax residue from the toe link and install new, secure jam nuts. If needed, they'll replace the toe link entirely – at no cost to you. You should schedule this repair as soon as possible.

Original — What Happened
GENERAL MOTORS IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2009-2010 CADILLAC CTS VEHICLES. SOME OF THESE VEHICLES HAVE A CONDITION IN WHICH A WAX COATING ON THE REAR SUSPENSION TOE LINK JAM NUTS MAY ALLOW THE NUT(S) TO LOOSEN. IF A NUT SUFFICIENTLY LOOSENS, THE TOE LINK COULD SEPARATE AND THE REAR WHEEL WOULD BE ABLE TO TURN INBOARD OR OUTBOARD. OWNERS MAY HEAR A METALLIC CLANKING NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE THAT MAY WARN OF A LOOSENING NUT.
