Critical #17V088000 Plain English
Component

FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The fuel tank vent line in your i3 REx is a hose that helps control the air pressure inside your fuel tank. In some 2014-2017 models, this hose can rub against a nearby wire and wear out, creating a hole.
Risk if Unfixed
If the hose wears out, you could get a fuel vapor leak. If there's an ignition source nearby, like a spark from a faulty electrical component, it could catch fire.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will inspect the vent line, replace it if it's damaged, and add a protective clip to prevent future damage – all for free. They'll contact you when it's time for the repair, so be sure to stay tuned for their notification.
