Component
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The wiring in your vehicle is like the nervous system of your car, routing electrical signals to control the heating and air conditioning. In certain models, the wiring and connectors could overheat.
Risk if Unfixed
If the wiring overheats, the connectors could melt, causing a fire, even if you're not driving the car. This is a serious risk, especially since it could happen when your vehicle is left unattended.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty wiring and connectors with new, safer ones – free of charge. You'll get a notification when the repair is ready, and you should schedule an appointment as soon as possible.
