Component
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The wiring and electrical connectors in your vehicle control the air flow for the heating and air conditioning system. In your 2006-2011 BMW, this wiring can get too hot and start a fire.
Risk if Unfixed
If the wiring overheats, it could melt the electrical connectors, causing a fire, even when your car is parked and not in use. This is a serious risk, and you should take it seriously.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty wiring and connectors with new ones, completely free of charge. You'll get a notice when the repair is ready, and you should schedule it as soon as you can.
