The rear axle alignment in your Audi vehicle is the system that keeps your tires properly aligned. In some cases, this alignment might not have been checked after a previous repair.
Risk if Unfixed
If the rear axle is misaligned, your tires could wear down unevenly, which could lead to a blowout while driving. This could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash.

The rear axle alignment may not have been inspected after the repairs for Recall 21V-295 (42L1) were performed.

What Happened
The rear seat belt retractor in your vehicle is a safety device that helps keep the child restraint system secure. In some 2021-2022 models, this retractor might stop working too early, which could prevent the child seat from being properly buckled in.
Risk if Unfixed
If the retractor fails, the child restraint system might not work as intended, increasing the risk of injury to a child in a crash.
Free Fix
Your dealer will inspect and replace the middle-rear seat belt assemblies for free. This repair is complimentary, and you should schedule it as soon as you receive the recall notice.

The rear seat belt automatic locking retractors may deactivate early, which can prevent the child restraint system from securing properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

The lock nut on your vehicle's rear axle helps keep the suspension in place. In some 2021 Audi models, this nut can break due to corrosion, causing damage to the axle.

What Happened
The gateway control module in your vehicle is a computer that helps control important functions like your engine and lights. Water can get into this module if there's a leak or spill in the back seat or an area beneath your car.
Risk if Unfixed
If the gateway control module gets water damage, it could suddenly shut down while you're driving, causing your engine to lose power. This could make it harder to control your vehicle and increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will add a protective cover to the gateway control module and seal any underbody gaps where water might enter, all at no cost to you. You should schedule this repair as soon as you get your recall notice.

A liquid spill in the rear seat, or water ingress from an insufficient body seam underneath the vehicle may allow liquid to penetrate the gateway control module, causing it to shutdown.

The rearview camera display on your vehicle shows you what's behind you when you're in reverse. In certain Audi models, a software problem could cause the display to show a blank or black screen instead of the live camera image.
Risk if Unfixed
If the display is blank when you're backing up, you'll have reduced visibility of what's behind your vehicle, which could lead to a crash.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will update the infotainment system software to fix the issue, and it won't cost you a thing. You should schedule the repair as soon as you receive the notice.
