What Happened
Your vehicle's body control module is a computer that helps control various features like lights, windows, and locks. It's located under the rear seat, and a liquid spill or water leak could damage it.
Risk if Unfixed
If the body control module shuts down while you're driving, your engine power will suddenly decrease, making it harder to control your vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Audi will add a protective cover to the body control module and seal any water leaks in the underbody of your vehicle, all at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you receive the recall notice, which was mailed January 21, 2022.

Original — What Happened
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Audi) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Q5 Sportback, SQ5 Sportback, 2018-2022 Q5, and SQ5 vehicles. A liquid spill in the rear seat, or water ingress from an insufficient body seam underneath the vehicle may allow liquid to penetrate the gateway control module, causing it to shutdown.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
A gateway control module shutdown will suddenly reduce engine power, increasing the risk of a crash.
Original — Remedy
Dealers will install a protective cover on the gateway control module and seal an underbody seam as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 21, 2022. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Audi's number for this recall is 90S9.

The connections on your SQ5 Sportback's tailgate might not be secure, which means the metal sheets that make up the tailgate could come loose.
Risk if Unfixed
If the tailgate comes loose during a crash, it could reduce the protection of your vehicle, increasing the risk of injury to you and your passengers.
Free Fix
Audi will replace the tailgate free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as you receive the recall notice, which is expected to arrive on September 30, 2022.
