Component
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:BODY CONTROL MODULE/BCM
Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The gateway control module is a computer that controls various systems in your vehicle, like the lights and locks. Water or liquid can get inside and shut it down, like a computer crashing.
Risk if Unfixed
If the gateway control module shuts down, your engine's power will suddenly be reduced, making it harder to control your vehicle. This could increase the risk of a collision.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will add a protective cover to the gateway control module and seal any gaps underneath the vehicle, at no cost to you. Just schedule the repair when you get your recall notice.
