Component
ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER
Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The turbocharger in your vehicle is a vital part that helps your engine breathe and perform well. It's got a small filter that keeps the oil flowing to the turbocharger, but this filter can sometimes get clogged.
Risk if Unfixed
If the filter clogs, your turbocharger's bearings can wear down, causing the turbine wheel to rub against the housing or even break. This could lead to your engine stalling, which could increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will replace the faulty oil strainer and perform a complimentary oil change to ensure your turbocharger runs smoothly again. The repair is on the house, so be sure to schedule it as soon as you receive the recall notice.
