What Happened
The fuel supply line in your Audi A8 or S8 is a tube that carries gasoline to the engine. Over time, this line may start to develop tiny holes that can leak gasoline.
Risk if Unfixed
If the line leaks, it could spill fuel onto the hot engine or exhaust system, causing a fire. This is a serious risk to your safety and the safety of others around you.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will install a protective device called a fuel pressure damper to prevent leaks, free of charge. You should schedule this repair as soon as possible to ensure your safety on the road.

Original — What Happened
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Audi A8 and S8 vehicles. The fuel supply line for the high pressure fuel pump may become porous and leak fuel.

Leaking fuel, in the presence of an ignition source, increases the risk of fire.

Audi has notified owners, and dealers will install a fuel pressure damper, free of charge. The recall began February 21, 2019. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Volkswagen's number for this recall is 20BM.
