Component

SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS:MASTER CYLINDER

Manufacturer
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.)
What Happened
The brake master cylinder is a critical part of your vehicle's brake system. It's connected to the brake booster by a tie rod. In some 2020-2023 Honda and Acura models, the tie rod may not have been properly attached, which could cause the master cylinder to come loose.
Risk if Unfixed
If the brake master cylinder separates from the booster assembly, you could lose all brake function. This means you won't be able to stop your vehicle as quickly or safely as you normally would, which could increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Honda dealer will inspect and repair the brake booster assembly as needed, at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as possible, especially if you've received a recall notice letter dated August 7, 2023.
