What Happened
The lighting system in your Acura MDX has a part called the tailgate lid light assembly. In some 2014-2020 models, water can seep into the wiring and lights, causing them to stop working.
Risk if Unfixed
If your lights fail to turn on, you'll have reduced visibility while driving, especially at night. This could lead to a crash, especially if you're not seen by other drivers or pedestrians.
Free Fix
Your Acura dealer will inspect the wiring and lights, install a new fuse harness, replace the tailgate lid light, and seal any gaps in the body, all at no cost to you. You'll get a letter about the recall on May 30, 2025, and you should schedule the repair as soon as possible.
