SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC

Manufacturer
Volvo Car USA, LLC
What Happened
The Brake Control Module 2 in your vehicle helps manage your brakes, stability, and traction. In certain 2023 models, a software glitch could cause it to malfunction.
Risk if Unfixed
If the Brake Control Module 2 fails, your vehicle's brakes, stability, and traction control systems could shut down. This means you may not be able to stop as quickly or safely, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Volvo will send a software update to your vehicle's Brake Control Module 2, which will fix the issue. This update will be done remotely and at no cost to you.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Manufacturer
Volvo Car USA, LLC
What Happened
The e-call system in your vehicle is a critical safety feature that alerts emergency services in case of an accident. It's connected to a small antenna and a computer module that can detect when you're in a crash and alert help.
Risk if Unfixed
If you see a 'e-Call Service Required' message on your dashboard, it could be a false alarm. This might make you think the system is working fine, but in reality, it could be failing to detect a real emergency, which could delay help arriving during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Free Fix
Your Volvo dealer will update the computer software for the e-call system's antenna and module, ensuring it works properly - and it's on the house. You should schedule the repair as soon as you receive the recall notice.

Original — Risk if Unfixed
The false warning message could prevent the detection of an actual e-call system failure, which could delay an emergency response during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Original — Remedy
