What Happened
The passenger air bag in your S60 is designed to protect you in a front-end collision. However, in some 2019-2024 models, it may not be securely attached, which can cause it to deploy incorrectly or not at all.
Risk if Unfixed
If the air bag doesn't deploy correctly in a crash, it could fail to properly protect you from injury. This means you're at a higher risk of getting hurt.
Free Fix
Your Volvo dealer will check the air bag's attachment and tighten the bolts if needed. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
Volvo Car USA, LLC. (Volvo Car) is recalling certain 2019-2024 S60 vehicles. The passenger air bag may not be secured properly, which can cause the air bag to deploy improperly.

Dealers will inspect and tighten the bolts securing the passenger air bag, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 5, 2024. Owners may contact Volvo Car customer service at 1-800-458-1552. Volvo Car's number for this recall is R10254.
