What Happened
The passenger air bag in your S60 is designed to deploy in the event of a crash to protect you. In some 2019-2024 models, the air bag might not be attached correctly, which could cause it to fail to work as intended.
Risk if Unfixed
If the air bag doesn't deploy properly in a crash, you could be at risk of more severe injury compared to a standard deployment.
Free Fix
Your authorized Volvo dealer will inspect the air bag's attachment and tighten the bolts as needed, free of charge. This repair is complimentary, and you should schedule it as soon as possible after receiving the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
Volvo Car USA, LLC. (Volvo Car) is recalling certain 2019-2024 S60 vehicles. The passenger air bag may not be secured properly, which can cause the air bag to deploy improperly.

Dealers will inspect and tighten the bolts securing the passenger air bag, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 5, 2024. Owners may contact Volvo Car customer service at 1-800-458-1552. Volvo Car's number for this recall is R10254.
