The suction jet pump in your vehicle's fuel tank helps control evaporation emissions. However, the seal inside this pump can wear out and allow gasoline to leak into the evaporative system.
Risk if Unfixed
If gas leaks out of the charcoal canister and there's an ignition source nearby, like a spark or flame, it could cause a fire.
Free Fix
Your Volkswagen or Audi dealer will replace the faulty suction pump with a new one, free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice. If your vehicle was previously recalled under 16V-647, a new repair is still needed.
