SUSPENSION:FRONT:SHOCK ABSORBER

Manufacturer
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing
What Happened
The front shock absorber on your Yaris is a critical component that helps your vehicle absorb bumps and maintain stability. In some 2015 models, the part that holds it in place can be damaged by heavy loads, like hitting a big pothole.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, the strut could break, causing your vehicle to lose stability and making it harder to control, which increases the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Toyota dealer will replace the strut mounting bearings and, if needed, the strut and front suspension support, all at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you receive the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2015 Yaris vehicles manufactured January 13, 2015, to February 27, 2015. The front strut mounting bearings can be damaged when a high load is applied to the strut, such as driving over a large bump.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
A damaged strut mounting bearing may cause the strut rod to separate, causing a loss of vehicle stability and increasing the risk of a crash.
Original — Remedy
Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will replace the strut mounting bearings and, as necessary, replace the strut and front suspension support sub-assembly, free of charge. Remedy parts are currently unavailable. Interim notices were mailed to owners July 12, 2016. The recall began on September 29, 2016. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's number for this recall is G0S.

SUSPENSION:REAR:AXLE:NON-POWERED AXLE ASSEMBLY

Manufacturer
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing
What Happened
In your 2015 Yaris, the rear axle is the part that helps your wheels move smoothly. It has bolts that were possibly tightened incorrectly during assembly.
Risk if Unfixed
If those bolts come loose while you're driving, the wheel may lock up or the brakes may not work as well, both of which could lead to a crash.
Free Fix
Your Toyota dealer will check the bolts and tighten them if needed, all for free. You'll get a notice when it's time for the repair.

Original — What Happened
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2015 Yaris vehicles manufactured September 8, 2014, to January 9, 2015. The affected vehicles may have improperly tightened rear axle bearing bolts.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
The improperly tightened bolts may loosen during vehicle operation and may potentially cause the wheel to lock up or may damage the rear brake components, reducing their effectiveness. Either condition increases the risk of a crash.
Original — Remedy
Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the rear axle bearing bolts, tightening them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began during April 3, 2015. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331.
