STEERING:COLUMN

Manufacturer
Subaru of America, Inc.
What Happened
The steering column in your Legacy or Outback is the part that connects your steering wheel to the front wheels. In some 2016-2017 models, it might have been made incorrectly, which means turning the wheel won't affect the direction of your vehicle.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, you'll lose control over your vehicle's direction, which could cause a crash, especially if you're driving at high speeds.
Free Fix
Your Subaru dealer will inspect the steering column and replace it if necessary, free of charge. They will contact you with a specific schedule for the repair. Until then, please do not drive your vehicle.
