What Happened
The driveshaft in your Legacy or Outback is the component that connects your transmission to your wheels. The propeller shaft yoke is a part that helps transmit power to the driveshaft, but some of these parts were made with a faulty seal cap that can deform and start leaking transmission oil.
Risk if Unfixed
If the transmission oil leaks onto the exhaust pipe, there's a risk of a fire, which could cause serious damage or injury.

How to Get This Fixed

Free Fix
Your Subaru dealer will replace the propeller shaft with a new one, free of charge. You'll get a notification when it's time for the repair, and you should schedule it right away to ensure your safety.
