What Happened
The fuel pump in your vehicle is the part that gets gasoline from the tank to your engine. In some aftermarket versions of this pump, which were installed in Subaru vehicles, a fuel leak could occur when the gas tank is full.
Risk if Unfixed
If gasoline leaks from the fuel pump while you're driving, it could spill onto a hot surface, like the exhaust system, and catch fire, which could cause serious damage to your vehicle or even lead to a fire.
Free Fix
Your dealer will replace the faulty fuel pump with a new one, free of charge. This repair is a priority, so schedule it as soon as possible once you receive the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
Airtex Products LP (Airtex) is recalling certain model E8598M, E8518M, E8600M, E8596M, and E8597M fuel pumps manufactured July 26, 2013, and July 29, 2013 and used as aftermarket replacements on Subaru Baja's, Outback's and Legacy's. The affected fuel pumps were sold or installed into the aftermarket applications on or after July 26, 2013, and may may leak fuel from the base of a fuel line connection when the gas tank is full.

A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.
Original — Remedy
Airtex will notify owners, and will replace the fuel pump, free of charge. Recall is expected to begin on January 2, 2014. Customers may contact Airtex at 1-800-880-3056. The recall is expected to begin during January 2014. This recall is being conducted by Airtex, not by Subaru.

What Happened
The transmission parking rod is a critical part that helps hold your vehicle in place when you shift to 'Park'. Unfortunately, some of these rods were made incorrectly and may not work as they should.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, your vehicle could roll away without warning, which could cause an accident.
Free Fix
Your Subaru dealer will replace the faulty parking rod with a new one at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you receive the recall notice, and if you have any issues, call Subaru at 1-800-782-2783.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:CABLES

What Happened
The cruise control cable is a critical part that helps your vehicle stay at a steady speed. In certain Subaru models, this cable can come loose and get stuck on the throttle lever when you let off the gas pedal.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, your throttle will stay open, making it hard to control your vehicle. This could cause a crash if you're not able to regain control of the car.
Free Fix
Your Subaru dealer will add a small clip to the cruise control lever to keep the cable in place, free of charge. You should schedule this repair as soon as you get your recall notice.

ON CERTAIN PASSENGER SEDANS, WAGONS, AND SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, THE CRUISE CONTROL CABLE COULD COME OUT OF ITS TRACK ON THE CRUISE CONTROL LEVER AND LODGE ON THE CONTROL LEVER TAB WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS RELEASED.
