What Happened
The fuel pump service cover on your Macan is a critical part that helps prevent fuel leaks. In some 2015-2018 models, it might touch the fuel filter, causing cracks and potentially leading to a leak.
Risk if Unfixed
If fuel leaks and there's an ignition source, like a spark from an engine or a hot exhaust component, it could start a fire.
Free Fix
Your authorized Porsche dealer will inspect and repair or replace the fuel pump flange to prevent leaks, and apply a protective film to prevent future issues – all at no cost to you.

Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain 2015-2018 Macan vehicles. The fuel pump service cover may contact the flow nozzle on the filter flange of the fuel pump, potentially causing cracks and a fuel leak.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of a fire.
Original — Remedy
Porsche will rework or replace and apply a protective film to the fuel pump flange. in addition, the fuel pump flange will be inspected and replaced if cracks are present. The recall began April 10, 2020. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is ALA2.

What Happened
Your vehicle's fuel pump flange might crack, causing fuel to leak, which is a problem in your 2015-2017 Macan S, Macan Turbo, Macan, Macan Turbo with Performance Package, or Macan GTS.
Risk if Unfixed
If the fuel pump flange cracks and leaks, it could catch fire if there's an ignition source nearby, which could cause a serious accident.
Free Fix
Porsche will inspect the flange for free and replace it if it's cracked, or apply a protective film if it's fine. They'll contact you to schedule the repair, which is on the house.
