Component
FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP
Manufacturer
Porsche Cars North America, Inc.
What Happened
The fuel pump in your Macan is like a critical delivery system that gets gasoline from the tank to your engine. In some 2015-2018 models, a small part of the pump could rub against another part and crack, leading to a fuel leak.
Risk if Unfixed
If the fuel pump cracks, it could leak gasoline, which could ignite if there's a spark nearby. This could cause a fire, which is a serious safety risk.
Free Fix
Your dealer will fix the fuel pump's protective cover and apply a special film to prevent future damage. They'll also check for any cracks in the pump and replace it if needed – all at no cost to you.
