Component
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:ALTERNATOR/GENERATOR/REGULATOR
Manufacturer

What Happened
The alternator in your vehicle is what charges your battery while the engine is running. There's a chance that a wire inside the alternator could break, stopping the battery from charging.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens while you're driving, the battery warning light and brake warning light will come on, and your engine will start to slow down on its own to prevent a collision. This could cause your engine to stall, making it hard to control your vehicle.
Free Fix
Your Nissan dealer will inspect and replace the alternator with a new one that's designed to prevent this problem from happening again – at no cost to you. Just schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.
