What Happened
The communication module in your vehicle is a critical system that helps your car connect to the internet and services like emergency call (eCall). In some 2017-2022 Mercedes-Benz models, an error in the SIM card software could cause eCall to stop working.
Risk if Unfixed
If your eCall system fails, you might not be able to call for help in an emergency, which could delay the arrival of emergency responders and increase the risk of injury.
Free Fix
Your Mercedes-Benz dealer will update the communication module's software either via an Over-the-Air update or in-person, and this service is completely free of charge. You should schedule the update as soon as you receive the recall notice.
