ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE

Manufacturer
Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC
What Happened
The software in your vehicle's communication module is like a smartphone app that helps your car connect to the internet. In some models, this software can glitch and prevent your car from reaching emergency services if you need help.

If the eCall system is disabled, you won't be able to call for help from the emergency services center in a life-threatening situation, which could delay responders and increase the risk of injury.
Free Fix
Your Mercedes-Benz dealer will update the communication module software with a new version, free of charge. This update will happen through an over-the-air update or a visit to the dealer, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.
