What Happened
The eCall system in your vehicle relies on a communication module to send your location to emergency responders in case of a crash. In some 2016-2021 Mercedes-Benz models, this module might not send the correct location.
Risk if Unfixed
If the eCall system fails to send your location, emergency responders might be sent to the wrong place, which could delay help and increase the risk of injury if you're involved in a crash.
Free Fix
Your Mercedes-Benz dealer will update the communication module software, either at the dealership or through a free software update sent directly to your vehicle. This is a free repair, so you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.
