Component
AIR BAGS
Manufacturer
Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC
What Happened
The Occupant Classification System in your Land Rover is a computer that helps decide whether the front passenger air bag should deploy in a crash. In some 2010-2015 LR2 and 2012-2013 Range Rover Evoque models, this computer might not work correctly.
Risk if Unfixed
If there's a crash and the air bag doesn't deploy or deploys incorrectly, the front seat passenger could be seriously hurt, even with a relatively minor collision.
Free Fix
Your Land Rover dealer will update the software for your air bag system, and it won't cost you anything. They'll contact you when the update is ready, and you should schedule an appointment as soon as possible.
