Component
AIR BAGS
Manufacturer
Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC
What Happened
Your airbag system uses a computer called the Occupant Classification System (OCS) to decide when to deploy the front seat passenger airbag. In some 2010-2015 Land Rover LR2 and 2012-2013 Range Rover Evoque models, this computer can fail, leaving the airbag disabled.
Risk if Unfixed
If you're in a crash and the airbag is disabled, it might not deploy – or might not work properly. This means the passenger in the front seat could be at risk of serious injury.
Free Fix
Your Land Rover dealer will update the software controlling the airbag system, free of charge. You'll get a notification when it's time to schedule the update, and you should take care of it as soon as possible to ensure your safety.
